Export Area Manager – Romania & Balkans

ProGnosis Biotech, a leading manufacturer of diagnostic solutions for food safety and clinical applications, is seeking a driven Export Area Manager, to strengthen our international sales operations, by joining our team in Thessaloniki or Athens, Greece.

THE ROLE:

As our Export Area Manager, you will drive export sales, offer comprehensive support and training to our distributor partners and strategically broaden our market reach. You will play a key role in ensuring our international business thrives, providing practical solutions and building lasting relationships. You will actively develop and support our distributor network, with a particular emphasis on Romania and other strategic EU markets, and you’ll play an integral part in expanding ProGnosis Biotech’s market leadership and global impact.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales Growth & Territory Expansion:

  • Meet and exceed sales targets within assigned territories, focusing primarily on Romania and EU markets.
  • Identify potential distributors and key clients, initiating and nurturing new business relationships.
  • Conduct professional business trips to Romania twice per month to meet directly with end-users, strengthening commercial relationships and supporting sales activities.

Export Operations & Order Management:

  • Oversee daily export operations, ensuring efficient logistics, timely deliveries and compliance.
  • Support distributors throughout the ordering process, addressing any challenges promptly and effectively.

Distributor Training & Technical Support:

  • Lead technical training sessions for distributors to ensure they fully understand and can effectively market ProGnosis Biotech products.
  • Offer ongoing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to maintain customer satisfaction.

Pricing & Forecasting:

  • Develop and implement strategic pricing policies tailored to each product category and market.
  • Prepare accurate monthly and annual forecasts and sales performance reports to guide strategic decisions.

Market & Competitor Analysis:

  • Regularly analyze market trends and competitor activities, providing valuable insights to the sales and marketing teams.
  • Keep distributors informed about new and upcoming product launches to maintain competitive positioning.

Marketing & Communication:

  • Provide distributors with updated and relevant marketing materials.
  • Represent ProGnosis Biotech at international trade fairs, participating actively to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, International Relations (Balkan, Slavic & Eastern European Studies), or Economics.
  • At least 2 – 3 years of experience in international sales, export management, or distributor account management, preferably within biotech, diagnostics, or life sciences.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Native-level fluency in Romanian or equivalent proficiency supported by formal qualifications.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform in-depth market and competitor research.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid driving license and availability for international travel (20%-30% of working time).
  • Completed military service obligations (if applicable).

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively.
